Listen: Children Collectively Caring

For the City of Whittlesea Summer exhibition, we are celebrating the voices of local children.

Listen features artworks made by 25 children, accompanied by a small selection of individual and collective artworks by community members.

The exhibition promotes the message that climate change is a significant issue and that there are small changes that we can all make in our daily lives to help mitigate its effects.

These works have been selected from the “Collectively Caring for Climate” pledges, gathered from the community in 2020, when over 330 residents each made a climate pledge, reflecting one small change that they would make in their daily lives, that would help the environment.

Each participant was then supplied with a small canvas and illustrated their climate pledge on it.

COVID lockdowns consistently interrupted our presentations of the “Collectively Caring for Climate” exhibitions.

We think this work still needs to be seen, so for Summer 22/23 we will bring you the voices of our children through the exhibition titled Listen to hear our Children Collectively Caring.
