Come and sit in the Listening to Land installation, next to Solace Stream, under the Eucalypt Tree, and watch this epic musical journey/documentary through the pacific and Indian Oceans.
With No budget and no script, Tim Cole and Bao Bao set out with a few cameras and microphones and a vision of creating an oceanic song line which profiled artists who could speak for their heritage, their natural environments and those carrying the unbroken cultural lineage of their homelands from across the vastness of the Pacific, and as it turned out, across the Indian ocean too.
Filmed over three years on 16 Island nations across the Pacific & Indian Oceans, this grassroots musical follows the ocean highways uniting ancient musical lineages from Madagascar to Rapa Nui/Easter Island, Taiwan to Zenadth Kes/The Torres Strait, this is a heartfelt plea for environmental awareness and cultural preservation from those on the frontline of the climate crisis.
