Activate Your Community workshop series

Explore your passions, unearth tips for collaborating with others, and build new networks, experience and knowledge with our Activate Your Community workshop series.

Activate Your Community is a series of four practical workshops that will build your skills and confidence to create strong, connected and welcoming communities.

These workshops will bring to life the 'Community Activate Toolkit’ – a resource designed by the City of Whittlesea to support residents, groups and the wider community in leading positive, local change.

Communicating and sharing information

Tuesday 15 June, 10.00 - 11.30am and Thursday 17 June, 7.00 - 8.30pm

Promoting your community project, event or campaign is an important step. This workshop will help you to fine-tune what you want to communicate, and find the best ways to gain broad support and get the word out.

It will cover:

  • Exploring different options to communicate for your purpose
  • How to attract media attention
  • Using social media and online platforms to connect and promote
