Artist: Meg De Young

Local artist Meg De Young received funding from our Whittlesea Creative Communities Fund to create a Whittlesea Community Garden Mural.

This grant was originally designed to provide some financial support to artists and creative groups who are economically affected long-term by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This grant has enabled me as an artist to keep the connections to the community through Covid restrictions,” Meg said.

“It has given me the chance of producing work that will directly benefit members of the community that not only are involved with Whittlesea Community Garden but engage with the garden space itself.

“Whether that be on walks or taking their family there for lunch, it has given me the opportunity to produce something for everybody to enjoy.”
