MyMouth: A Library of Mouth Sounds

MyMouth: A Library of Mouth Sounds

Help us create a library of mouth sounds.

For Children’s Week 2020 The City of Whittlesea is teaming up with voice artist Carolyn Conners to create MyMouth: A Library of Mouth Sounds.

From this collection of mouth sounds, Carolyn will compose a song that will be available to hear online. It may even be learned by a choir and performed live!

The library will then be available for other art projects in the municipality. We could make a Christmas Carol, or a soundtrack to a short film, schools could access it for a school production. The possibilities are endless!

What is a mouth sound? – any sound you can make with your mouth, it could be short and sharp or looong and round. We would like to keep the length of each sound to one breath. Record it one your phone, tablet or computer and send it to us via email.

To find out how to record your mouth sound and add it to the library, watch the video and send your sounds to: arts.heritage.events@gmail.com.
